Green Thumbs is a program seeking to teach children & caregivers about nature, gardening, pollination, & recycling & is part of the Tri-County Master Gardeners activities of Clemson University Extension. Note: The Summerville lesson will be the same as the one at our Ashley River Branch. For each month’s lesson, please only register for either the Summerville OR the Ashley River location.

Grades K through 5th

Wednesdays at 3pm

March 26 (Register 3/12): Reading in the Garden – We will read plant labels, plant charts, and gardening books and make a pressed flower bookmark.

April 23 (Register 4/9): Grass Class – Bring in a picture of your lawn grass or grass growing in a park and learn how to identify type, as well as the best way to maintain it. We will also make a grass head together!

May 28 (Register 5/14): Life Cycle of a Butterfly – We’ll investigate how pollinator plants support the life cycle of a butterfly.
